What is WELLNESS?
It seems not everybody has heard the term wellness yet or are not really sure about what it stands for.
Here some attempts to clarify that for you:
- The word wellness: a combination of the terms “wellbeing” and “fitness”
- The condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet, exercise, and habits
- It is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence rather then a static state of being
- Wellness is including your body and your mind and you create it yourself through your choices. It is something very individual and different for everybody
As you can see it comes down to felling good about yourself physically as well as mentally/emotionally. And – for me most important – you can do something about it. It is not a static situation but constantly changing and you can influence it with what you do over the course of your day. This is the beauty. If you want to achieve wellness, you can. It is up to you and you are in total control – I think that’s great, don’t you?
We will talk a bit more about what you can do yourself to achieve wellness, but maybe start by thinking about the following:
What makes you feel good/happy???
That will play an important role on your personal way to wellness.
